You may have been feeling flat or empty for quite a while. Or you may be afraid or overwhelmed in situations which don’t always upset people so much. Perhaps you are troubled by your behaviour towards others or when alone. You might find it hard to connect – with your own feelings and with other people.

Or maybe you are struggling to cope with a serious mental health problem. For example, you or your family may find it hard to understand what is happening when you are beset by psychosis or severe depression.

It occurs to you that talking with a psychologist might help. Your goals for psychological therapy could include being more comfortable with yourself, more connected with your feelings, finding relief from anxiety, being able to enjoy your relationships, achieving self-understanding and self-acceptance, feeling fully alive, developing confidence, or facing your fears.
